It is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Mid-Atlantic coast, spectacular natural attractions, fine museums and art galleries, numerous interesting historic landmarks, excellent tax-free shopping opportunities and an array of exciting outdoor activities. The First State as Delaware is often called because it was the first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States offers one of the kind experience and you will not regret if spending your vacations in Delaware.

Over 90 miles of coast and beautiful beaches make Delaware an ideal place to spent your summer vacations. You can relax on a sandy beach and enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean or enjoy countless water sports and other outdoor activities that are offered by most major Delaware beaches such as the popular Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. East of Lewes is the Cape Henlopen State Park which besides two beautiful swimming beaches also offers excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Nature lovers will enjoy the park's picturesque and ever-changing landscape, while history buffs can climb to top of the World War II observation tower. The Rehoboth Beach also known as “The Nation's Summer Capital” is a charming town most famous for its beaches but its visitors also enjoy in many gourmet restaurants and great shops that line the boardwalk along the sandy beach areas.

In addition to the beaches and great shopping opportunities, Delaware is home to many splendid historic landmarks and excellent museums which are a must-see if being interested in history. Some of the finest historic sites in the country can be found in the New Castle including the Read House and Garden that was built in the early 19th century by the son of George Read, the signer of the Declaration of Independence as well as the Stonum, the home of George Read. Other historic sites in New Castle worth visiting are the New Castle County Court House, the Old Dutch House, Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green, Thomas McKean House and many others well preserved colonial and federal buildings. You should not miss the Delaware History Museum either.
